The trail travelled from Micklegate Bar to Holy Trinity Church and The Stained Glass Centre. These heritage locations provided respite from the intensity of the races and a series of family friendly activities including race flag printing and an I-spy trail.
Participants could remix Micklegate using laser etched perspex drawings of the buildings along the race route and dance as part of Sonolopes interactive smartwatch sound piece.
The day culminated in a live performance by Leeds band Cowtown and Brighton-based Japanese instrument inventor ICHI.
"ICHI is so talented, his handmade instruments fitted well with the DIY soapbox carts. Very entertaining."
"I took my two children yesterday, they loved it and had a great couple of hours."
